After ogling the gorgeous frocks coming down the Armani Prive runway at the Paris couture shows recently, we couldn’t help but notice that one Ms Nicole Kidman was wearing a very familiar hair accessory:

We got serious primary-school-photo-day flashbacks, which got us thinking: how old is too old to wear a hair ribbon?
We’re coming down on the side of “you’re never too old”, so long as you stick to three simple guidelines:
- Keep the fabric super-luxe, so either quality silk, velvet or grosgrain
- Forget about anything too neat – wear your ribbon perfectly imperfect and your hair casually messy
- Makeup is key, so focus on groomed brows and maybe a flick of eyeliner
