Courtney Act & COS Have Designed A Limited-Edition Tote Just In Time For WorldPride

Bonus: 100 per cent of the profits go to charity.

This month, Sydney is turning rainbow as the city celebrates global LGBTQIA+ festival WorldPride.

It’s the first time the festival has been hosted in the Southern Hemisphere and coincides with the 45-year anniversary of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

With so many sparkling, sequin-filled and sex-positive events to attend (including 45 colourful art installations and more than 70 shows, parties, exhibitions and panel discussions), you’ll want to make sure you’re dressed head-to-toe in your best multicoloured looks.

Lucky for us, then, that fashion brand COS has teamed up with performer, singer and advocate Courtney Act to unveil an exclusive limited-edition tote we’ll be taking everywhere.

Emblazoned with the word ‘Celebrate’ and featuring all the colours of the Progress Pride Flag, the tote also helps support First Nations LGBTQIA+SB (Sistergirl, Brotherboy) organisation Black Rainbow.

The Perfect Match

For Courtney Act, who got her start on Australian Idol and shot to international fame on season six of RuPaul’s Drag Race, teaming up with COS was an “easy yes”.

“A huge chunk of my wardrobe is COS,” she says.

“I love their fabrics, cuts and colours—and now I have my very own COS tote to go with my cute lewks.”

True to the company’s bespoke approach to design, the tote is uniquely designed and perfectly combines function with timeless style. The ‘Celebrate’ design partnership with Courtney Act is also a nod to the singer’s upcoming single of the same name.

The vivacious motif is an optimistic reminder of the importance of building a society where everyone has the right to love, with colours used in the print design featuring all spectrums of the Progress flag.

Plus, the bag itself is constructed entirely of repurposed cotton from leftover fabrics, so it’s not only stylish, but sustainable as well.

Chic For Charity

The fact profits from the tote directly benefit First Nations LGBTQIA+SB organisation Black Rainbow was also a huge drawcard for the entertainer.

“I have followed the work Black Rainbow do to support queer First Nations people for years now and I’m excited by what they do and how it helps people in very real ways”, she says.

Founded in 2013, the volunteer-led organisation acts in the pursuit of positive health and wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Asexual, Sistergirl and Brotherboys.

“We are so excited to welcome WorldPride to Sydney,” says Black Rainbow founder Dameyon Bonson.

“We look forward to raising important funds for our community with the fun, new ‘Celebrate’ tote bag designed by our friend Courtney Act.”

Celebrate Now

The limited-edition ‘Celebrate’ tote will be available for purchase in all COS Australia physical stores from February 24.

At just $35, it’s affordably chic—and remember, 100 per cent of the funds raised will go towards Black Rainbow.

This WorldPride (and beyond), we’ll be ‘Celebrate’-ing in style and pairing the tote with outfits that show off who we are, loudly and proudly.
