There are two kinds of people in the world: those who change into trackpants the minute they get home, and those who wish they could. Rag & Bone has spent the past two decades designing for the overlap, where looking polished doesn’t require sacrificing comfort.

Founded in New York but with British tailoring in its DNA, the brand has long built its reputation on pieces that work as hard as the people wearing them. Think understated essentials with just enough attitude. Clothes that slot seamlessly into real life, whether that’s a long-haul flight, a Monday morning meeting or dinner downtown.

At the centre are the now-cult “sweatpant jeans”,  from the brand’s rb Miramar collection. The internet-famous style even had Oprah spruiking their delights, describing them as “hard pants that are actually soft pants”. And it’s easy to see why they made her  2025 “Favorite Things” list. Delivering all the visual credibility of denim with none of the stiffness, they  are that rare style that feels both practical and cool.

In its latest drop, the rb Miramar collection offers up jeans that aren’t actually jeans at all. Using innovative printing techniques, Rag & Bone has created a convincing trompe-l’oeil denim effect on impossibly soft fabrics, including terry cotton, ponte and mesh. The result is pants that look like authentic denim but feel closer to your favourite loungewear – a fashion trick that echoes the “sweatpant jeans” phenomenon.

The collection also now extends beyond its hero pant into dresses, tops and accessories, proving this isn’t a one-hit wonder but a new way of thinking about everyday dressing. “Rb Miramar reveals that customers are still looking for an element of comfort, but also ingenuity in the products they buy. Rb Miramar encompasses both,” says Jennie McCormick, Rag  & Bone’s chief design & merchandising officer for womenswear.

Because perhaps the future of getting dressed isn’t choosing between comfort and style. It’s forgetting there was ever a choice.

Rag & Bone’s rb Miramar collection is available at rag-bone.com.au, Rag & Bone retail stores, and select David Jones locations nationwide.
