Fashion’s biggest night isn’t quite over.
While the cameras may have dimmed on the storied steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the 2026 Met Gala, the evening has simply shifted address, spilling across New York into a constellation of after-parties that carry the sartorial star power well into the early hours.
If the Met Gala is the grand overture, the after-hours circuit is where the mood loosens, slicker, sharper, and more unguarded.
In years past, that has translated into moments like Kendall Jenner’s Givenchy by Alexander McQueen spring/summer 1997 look, complete with feathered wings and a corseted bodice, or Zendaya’s vintage Patrick Kelly column gown, offset with a feathery jacket.
At this year’s gala, themed “Costume Art,” the focus turned to the relationship between fashion and the body, with standout turns from Beyoncé, Yseult and Kylie Jenner, among others. Many are expected to extend that same visual language into the night’s second chapter.
As the city hums on, we can’t wait to see a new wave of arrivals trade sweeping gowns and razor-sharp tailoring for something freer, but no less considered.
Already, Kendall Jenner has stepped out in a second look: a draped nude GapStudio gown, its sheer skirt offset by a sculpted, nipple-baring bodice. The design carries forward the visual language of her Met Gala look, both crafted by Zac Posen.
