Chanel has announced a new brand ambassador, and it’s none other than your favourite male rapper, Kendrick Lamar. After a groundbreaking year of Grammy wins and performing the Superbowl Halftime Show, Kendrick has now nabbed another prestigious title. If his Superbowl Celine jeans hadn’t already cemented his place as a fashion icon, this new appointment surely will.

Kendrick joined actresses Margaret Qualley and Lupita Nyong’o for Chanel’s latest eyewear campaign. Meanwhile, Business Of Fashion confirmed he has been signed as a brand ambassador, but has been a friend of the house since the Karl Lagerfeld-themed Met Gala in 2023.

The appointment comes only weeks out from the 2025 Met Gala, where the theme is Superfine: Tailoring Black Style. We can’t wait to see what Chanel will create for this Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper.

Dior’s latest documentary, HER DIOR – Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Collaborations with Women Artists, directed by Loïc Prigent, explores how Chiuri has championed female artistry since joining the House in 2016. Featuring voices like Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Judy Chicago, and Mickalene Thomas, the film delves into the powerful collaborations that have shaped Dior’s collections under the creative direction of Chiuri – blurring the lines between fashion, activism, and art. Through behind-the-scenes footage and intimate discussions, it captures the essence of the designer’s vision: a celebration of creative sisterhood.

More than just a fashion documentary – it’s a testament to the power of women shaping the industry on their own terms. From feminist statement pieces to exquisite craftsmanship, HER DIOR highlights how art and fashion intersect to tell stories that matter. Streaming on Dior’s YouTube channel now, it’s a must-watch for fashion lovers and feminists alike.

This autumn, Bendigo Art Gallery presents Frida Kahlo: In Her Own Image, an exclusive exhibition offering an intimate glimpse into the personal life of the iconic Mexican artist. On display are Kahlo’s personal belongings—including clothing, accessories, cosmetics, and medical items—on loan from Mexico’s Museo Frida Kahlo. These artefacts, sealed in her family home, La Casa Azul, for 50 years after her death, provide insight into how Kahlo crafted her public persona and addressed themes of cultural identity and personal experience through her self-fashioning and art.

Running until July 13, 2025, this exhibition is a rare opportunity to explore the intricate connections between Kahlo’s vibrant attire, her performance in photography, and her distinctive world view. Visitors can delve into how these elements influenced her self-portraits and contributed to her enduring cultural impact and legacy in art and fashion.

Loewe’s latest creation, the Madrid bag, is a love letter to the house’s Spanish heritage, seamlessly blending old-world craftsmanship with modern sophistication. Named after the city where Loewe was founded in 1846 – and where its artisans still perfect the art of leatherwork – this voluminous yet soft trapezoid silhouette exudes quiet luxury. Thoughtfully designed for everyday elegance, its pleated sides are cinched with tubular straps, while a luminous gold Pebble clasp and asymmetric zip add an architectural edge.

First unveiled on the Spring/Summer 2025 runway at the Château de Vincennes in Paris, the Madrid has already cemented its status as a future icon, with Taylor Russell fronting its debut campaign. Crafted in exquisitely supple calfskin with a nappa-lined interior, it’s a tactile indulgence as much as a statement piece. Available in three sizes and hues including Black, Dark Burgundy, Olive, and Burnt Red, this is the kind of bag that doesn’t just complete a look – it defines it.
