This Emma Stone-Approved Italian Brand Does Some Of The Best Statement Coats I’ve Seen

Loro Piana Holiday Collection 2027

Italian luxury brand, Loro Piana, worn by Emma Stone, Gigi Hadid and Gwyneth Paltrow, has teased its Fall/Winter 2026-2027 Holiday Collection, out Wednesday, October 21 – and there’s one item I can’t stop thinking about. It’s a brown Jacquard coat, in line with one of the biggest fashion trends we’re seeing to come out of the Northern Hemisphere this autumn.

Loro Piana’s version of the Jacquard coat trend is thigh-high, with a collar and shoulder pads and black-and-gold detailing, as well as a matching, separate skirt. And yes, I’m well aware the Southern Hemisphere’s heading to summer, but this is relevant for anyone planning a ski holiday anytime soon or Euro Christmas, so please indulge me.

Like the rest of the Holiday Collection pieces, which also includes menswear, the coat was designed to be worn day-to-night, fusing together warmth, tactility and sensoriality.

Pieces in the brand’s Holiday Collection feature an interplay of textures, hand-finished prints, exclusive patterns and elaborate stitches. The drop, as a whole, is steeped in a muted colour palette of signature Loro Piana Tundra green, dark pine greens and earthy brown, illuminated by accents of winter white and marigold.

Loro Piana’s signature tartan and paisley also pop up in the collection, including in the Spagna jacket and Konny vest, which are both finely detailed with needlework. The Tony vest, Valerie shirt and Aisha skirt showcase the brand’s skill in using yarn and creating new motifs.

The Jacquard coat isn’t the only statement outerwear in the launch – the Yeats Coat and Villon Coat in shearling are equally show-shopping. For more everyday outerwear, there’s the knitted Trevis bomber, decorated with macro cable-knit accents, the Icer Field jacket, a technical Zermatt Parka, and an embroidered Baby Cashmere turtleneck. For a night out, there’s the sculptural, floor-grazing Mijoux Dress, which you might pair with the Chavanette High Boot in Capra Cashmere Shearling.

Loro Piana began as an Italian family working as traditional wool merchants in the early 1800s. They’re considered pioneers of baby cashmere, sourced from the under-fleece of Hircus goat kids in China and Mongolia, and have exclusive rights to process and harvest vicuña, known as the “fibre of the Gods” from the Andes through conservation partnerships. The vicuña is believed to be the ancestor of domesticated alpaca.

Today, they’re one of the best-known names in quiet luxury, thanks to their use of rare, ultra-fine natural fibres like the two above, cashmere and extra-fine merino wool. The brand has a flagship store in Australia – at Westfield Sydney – and is also available online.
