In a reminder that the good old days are still omnipresent, George Clooney and Julia Roberts’ new rom-com, Ticket To Paradise just premiered and the red carpet was a sight to behold.

The Hollywood icons dressed in their very best as they descended on London’s Leister Square, with George bringing along his wife, Amal for the long-overdue photo opportunity. For the occasion, Amal wore a stunning floor-length silver slip dress—its origins are unknown, but the design is rumoured to be a vintage piece from an archive given the human rights lawyer is known for her impeccable selection of archival gowns. Meanwhile,  George also looked dapper in a three-piece navy suit.

Julia Roberts, ever the Hollywood siren, wore a striking black gown which was emblazoned with silver hearts and lettering including, the words “hope” and “love”. She wore the Alexander McQueen design with a cropped black jacket with her iconic burgundy tresses styled in long loose waves.

Of course, she joined her co-star for a photo, and suddenly, we’re right back in the 90s and early aughts. Hold us.

Hype for Ticket to Paradise is (rightfully) at an all time high for several reasons. The first is pretty self explanatory—two of the biggest Hollywood stars of our time teaming up for a rom-com? Count us in!

Secondly, it was directed by Ol Parker, who was the brains behind Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, so, y’know, instantly sold etc.

And thirdly, Roberts has set some clear expectations around the film’s plot, telling fans that it’s “probably going to be terrible”.

“I think it’s so funny and George is so funny, and George and I together, it’s probably going to be terrible because there’s too much potential for it to be great, it’ll just implode on itself,” Roberts joked while promoting the film at Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.

Honestly, we don’t care if it is—we’d happily watch 90 minutes of Roberts and Clooney rehearsing a monologue in front of a blank wall if it reminded us of the good old early 2000s rom-com days. We can only be pleasantly surprised at this point.

As for what Ticket To Paradise is actually about, the plot follows Roberts and Clooney’s characters as a “divorced couple that teams up and travels to Bali to stop their daughter from making the same mistake they think they made 25 years ago”.

The film will also star Booksmart’s Kaitlyn Dever as their daughter, who they are trying to stop marrying a person that she “just met”. Suffice to say we’re excited.
