Kate Middleton embraced full royal finery at Windsor Castle last night, delivering a dazzling display of diamonds for a state banquet honouring the Sultan of Oman.

For the glitzy occasion, the Princess of Wales turned to her trusty Lover’s Knot tiara, a royal heirloom worth an estimated AUD $190 million. The intricate headpiece features a series of open-heart motifs encrusted with diamonds, with 19 lustrous baroque pearls suspended beneath.

Once a favourite of Princess Diana, the tiara has become something of a staple for Kate over the years, having most recently worn it in March for the Nigerian state banquet.

The tiara was originally commissioned by Queen Mary in 1913, taking inspiration from the Cambridge Lover’s Knot Tiara, which was created in the early 19th century for Princess Augusta of Hesse-Kassel. Crafted by British luxury jeweller Garrard, the dazzling replica was later inherited by Queen Elizabeth II, who loaned it to Princess Diana on numerous occasions.

Completing Kate’s glittering jewellery suite were Queen Elizabeth II’s Greville Diamond Chandelier Earrings, an exquisite Art Deco creation by Cartier believed to be worth approximately AUD $3 million. She also wore Queen Mary’s Choker Bracelet, another Art deco style piece complete with brilliant-cut diamonds set in platinum.

As for her dress, Kate opted for a sweeping yellow Elie Saab gown from the designer’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection. The regal evening dresses featured a dramatic integrated cape, a rounded neckline embellished with braided trim, and a fitted bodice that cinched at the waist. She completed the look with King Charles III’s Royal Family Order, alongside the sash and star of the Royal Victorian Order.

Earlier in the day, Princess Kate joined Prince William and other members of the British royal family in welcoming Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said to Windsor Castle. For the daytime engagement, Kate revisited another wardrobe favourite with a forest-green Alexander McQueen coat previously worn in 2022 and 2025.

She paired the tailored design with green velvet Manolo Blahnik heels and a classic quilted Chanel flap bag. The Sultan’s three-day state visit marks a historic occasion, representing the first time an Omani monarch has travelled to the United Kingdom in 44 years.
