Game, Set, Style! Stars Come Out To Play At The Australian Open With Ralph Lauren And Marie Claire

The Australian Open is fast becoming the most fashionable sporting event in the country.

With summer in full swing, the most stylish and sporty event of the season—the Australian Open—is the place to be.

With heritage American label Ralph Lauren celebrating its third return as the official outfitter of the annual tennis event, this year’s championship is undoubtedly the most stylish yet.

All eyes were on the Ralph Lauren pop-up as casually chic stars flocked to the exquisitely refurbished marquee for top-notch cuisine paired with tennis-themed cocktails.

Hosted by marie claire Australia Editor Nicky Briger, fashion-forward attendees including Amy Shark, Millie Ford, Ruel, Victoria Lee and Eliza Taylor as well as Thomas, Anna and Elsa Cocquerel descended on the country club-themed Ralph Lauren Hospitality Marquee to raise a glass (and racket) in honour of Australia’s love of tennis.

The guests dressed for the occasion, wearing looks from the current Ralph Lauren and Polo Ralph Lauren collections.

Guests were greeted at the door with waiters serving champagne and spritzes, perfect for a balmy evening, before being ushered into the stylishly appointed marquee where they were treated to a bespoke dining experience.

But the after-dinner entertainment was the real highlight; a nail-biting match between Novak Djokovic and Enzo Couacaud, that saw Djokovic win the match in four sets.

This year, the AO23 Capsule Collection sees Ralph Lauren apply his signature equine style to Australia’s paramount tennis tournament with sports luxe looks that are match-ready including slim-cut blazers, windbreakers, bomber jackets and cigarette pants. The towels used on court by athletes will also feature the distinct pony motif of the brand.

From 16 to 29 January 2023, the American fashion house will dress up to 4000 staff, including umpires, ball persons and on and off-court officials.

“Ralph Lauren has defined a distinct sense of style for more than 50 years, and their fresh and modern style perspective is a perfect fit for the Australian Open,” Australian Open Tournament Director Craig Tiley said.

Adhering to the brand’s commitment to sustainability, the entire collection incorporates recycled materials, with attributes like moisture wicking and UV protective fabrics.

Whether you will be tuning in from home or catching all the action live, fashion and tennis lovers alike will be able to purchase and customise pieces from the collection with their name or initials, by embroidering and printing specially on a selection of classic Ralph Lauren styles and designs.

Game, set… style.

The official AO23 Capsule Collection launches on January 6, 2023. The Australian Open starts on 16 January and concludes on 29 January 2023.
