The 2025 Met Gala is finally here and the red carpet arrivals are taking to the infamous steps as we speak. So, cancel your plans, call in sick and ready the group chat because your full and undivided attention is required.
For fashion subscribers, the avant-garde theatrics of the Met Gala red carpet makes the first Monday of May one of the most hotly anticipated days in the sartorial calendar.
Only adding to the lead up is the pre-event speculation over who will make it onto the guestlist and how will they interpret this year’s theme?
The notoriously secretive event rarely reveals such things before the red carpet begins, let alone what actually happens inside the Met Gala main event.
The 2025 Met Gala Theme On The Red Carpet
Of course, we can hazard a guess as to what this year’s red carpet will entail based on the theme ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’ and dress code ‘Tailored For You’.
We’re expecting plenty of nods to the work that inspired the exhibition, Monica L.Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity infused with tailoring and menswear.
Also central to this year’s theme is Black Dandyism. The sartorial and style movement was led by figures such as figures like Beau Brummell in 18th-century Britain and sought to move away from aristocratic fashion to instead favour sharp tailoring and refined grooming.
2025 Met Gala Red Carpet Looks
While much of the guest lists remains under wraps until celebrities begin walking the red carpet, there are a few key stars confirmed prior. We’re expecting this year’s co-chairs Lewis Hamilton, Colman Domingo, Pharrell Williams and A$AP Rocky to don their finest on-theme ‘fits.
Then, there’s the host committee including Ayo Edebiri who has recently been channeling ‘90s Julia Roberts with her red carpet looks and Tyla, whose Balmain sands of time look made for one of the best 2024 outfits.
As the event unfolds, we’re rounding up the best 2025 Met Gala red carpets looks below.

From the grid to the red carpet in less than 24 hours is a feat not many can achieve – but if anyone can – it’s Ferrrari’s-own Lewis Hamilton. As a co-chair, all eyes were on the seven-time Championship driver as he arrived in custom Wales Bonner and regal Briony Raymond jewellery.

Pharrell Williams & Helen Lasichanh
As the Men’s creative director of Louis Vuitton, there were no questions as to who Pharrell would be wearing. Taking couples dressing to designer new heights, co-chair Williams opted for a double-breasted Louis Vuitton blazer with pearescent buttons and flared black pants. Lasichanh went for emblem-heavy stockings and a leather bustier with matching leather blazer and Tiffany & Co Jewellery.
