As Copenhagen Fashion Week celebrates its 20th anniversary, the Danish capital is once again proving why it has become fashion’s unofficial fifth stop on the global calendar, alongside New York, London, Milan and Paris.
Just one day in, the streets are already awash with playful patterns, delightfully “freaky” shoes, tactile textures and vibrant jolts of colour. And with plenty more stylish showgoers still to descend on the city, we’re bracing ourselves for an endless stream of Scandi-inspired outfit inspiration.
Buoyed by Europe’s summer warmth, the mood is a world away from the coat-heavy layers and knit-clad crowds that characterised Copenhagen Fashion Week’s January iteration. Now, in their place, comes a sense of lightness, playfulness and joyful exuberance. Accessories, in particular, are emerging as the season’s standout story.
Quirky bags, whimsical embellishments and unexpected styling details capture Copenhagen’s singular point of view, while headscarves, bandanas, pillbox hats and layers of hair clips lend personality to every look.

Nordic favourites including Mfpen, By Malene Birger, Stine Goya and Marimekko return to the runway, while the schedule also welcomes highly anticipated debuts and international guests, including Collina Strada and Anne Sofie Madsen.
