Fashion weeks are a reliable gathering point for the world’s most compelling street style, but few feel as influential or as distinctly defined as Copenhagen Fashion Week.
As the epicentre of Scandi style, the city has become a magnet for editors, stylists, buyers and journalists each season, all eager to experience the collections firsthand.
This week marks the start of Copenhagen Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2026, a milestone edition that also celebrates the event’s 20th anniversary. Running from January 27 to 30, the four-day program arrives with a more streamlined schedule, featuring 21 runway shows alongside a select number of presentations.
The compact format is intended as a prelude to what organisers have described as a major summer season later this year.
Despite the tighter calendar, anticipation remains high. One of the most talked-about moments is the return of Norwegian label Holzweiler, which will stage a one-off homecoming show after presenting in London between Spring Summer 2024 and Autumn Winter 2024. The move forms part of a broader initiative spotlighting Nordic brands returning to the Danish capital after showing abroad.
Elsewhere, several designers remain firmly on the industry radar. Nicklas Skovgaard returns following his Wessel & Vett Fashion Prize win, while Caro Editions continues to expand its presence.
The recently relaunched Anne Sofie Madsen will show once again after a strong runway comeback last season. London-based brand Paolina Russo, winner of the Zalando Sustainability Award 2023, is also back on the schedule.
As January snow continues to dust the streets, the looks balance warmth with statement dressing, as attendees brave the cold in layers that are as considered as they are cosy.
