When we hear the words Valentino and Florence Pugh in the same sentence, we only hear one thing: chic, sheer dressing.
The Hollywood actor, acclaimed for her roles in The Wonder and Don’t Worry Darling, is starting to be known for wearing sheer looks by the maison, this time to Paris Fashion Week.
It was a juxtaposing ensemble to say the least. Without the sheer, glimmery skirt and diamond necklace, Pugh would only be seen in a cropped grey sweatshirt, white knickers and her hair in a top knot. A look that is arguably more ‘I stayed at my boyfriend’s house’ than high fashion.
However, with the addition of the extra-long maxi skirt (a new trend we continue to see popping up at fashion week) elevates the look tenfold.
She paired the ‘fit with a chunky diamond choker, matching earrings, bracelets and jewel-encrusted evening bag.
Pugh looked every bit the fashionista sitting amongst the fashion set at Valentino’s Fall/Winter 2023 show, rocking the sheer outfit with confidence and poise.
This ensemble follows the iconic bright pink sheer Valentino dress she wore to the fashion house’s Haute Couture show, presented in Rome, which led to a wave of backlash over the star choosing not to cover her nipples.
“Listen, I knew when I wore that incredible Valentino dress that there was no way there wouldn’t be a commentary on it. Whether it be negative or positive, we all knew what we were doing,” she shared on Instagram.
“I was excited to wear it, not a wink of me was nervous. I wasn’t before, during or even now after,” she wrote at the time, adding the hashtag #freethef—kingnipple.
The actor also wore a sheer Valentino two-piece for a brand dinner during Paris Fashion Week last year, showing that she is a true sheer dressing icon. There were other celebrity guests in attendance at the Valentino show, including Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas, Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham, although neither couple rocked sheer fabrics as Florence did.
