Are you ready for more How I Met Your Mother?
A spinoff for the show is officially in development at Fox.
The spinoff will be told from the female's point of view of how she eventually meets the love of her life and will feature completely new characters.
The show is being fronted by This Is Us writers, Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. Original series creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas are expected to serve as executive producers.
The spinoff will be called How I Met Your Father and will follow the same formula as the original, as a woman recounts to her kids the tale of her courtship with their dad. It is not known whether this will link in with the storylines of the original series at all.
How I Met Your Mother was hugely popular during its nine year run but ended on a controversial note.
In the finale, we learn that after nine years of Ted (played by Josh Radnor) telling us how he meet the love of his life, the mother (played by Cristin Milioti), that he ends up with his bestfriend/ex girlfriend Robin (played by Colbie Smulders).
The show's finale has been deemed by critics and fans as one of the worst TV shows finales ever.
Another spinoff for the show was previously commissioned in 2014 titled How I Met Your Dad, with Greta Gerwig as the lead character and Meg Ryan narrating.
However, the show failed to pick up due to its extreme similarity to the original show.
Here's hoping that this spinoff has better luck.
