An 11-month-old baby girl is in Westmead Children’s hospital fighting for her life after she was found lying on the floor of a Lithgow home.
The child was found unconscious by paramedics who treated her at the scene before she was taken to Lithgow hospital and later airlifted to Westmead.

Channel Nine reports that she is in a critical condition and is undergoing major surgery to try and relieve some pressure on her brain. If she does pull through it is likely that she will be left with permanent brain damage.
It is understood the girl fell from her cot but police have established a crime scene and are continuing investigations into how she fell. The people who were home at the time of the incident are said to fully cooperating with police.
