Australian Grand Slam champion Samantha Stosur has hinted that tennis players may boycott Margaret Court Arena at next yearโs Australian Open, following the former tennis starโs comments about gay marriage.
Margaret Court appeared on The Project on Friday night where she defended saying she will stop flying Qantas Airlines โwhere possibleโ after the airlineโs promotion of same-sex marriage came out.
โI believe in marriage as a union between a man and a woman as stated in the Bible,โ Ms Court wrote in the original letter published in The West Australian.
โYour Qantas statement leaves me no option but to use other airlines where possible for my extensive travelling.โ

The letter also talked about tennis player Casey Dellacqua โ who has two children with her same-sex partner Amanda Judd โ saying that children born into female same-sex couples will always have questions surrounding their โidentity and background.โ
Dellacqua responded by posting a photo of the article to Twitter, writing, โMargaret. Enough is enough.โ
Sam Stosur then reposted Caseyโs tweet, writing, โProud of you Case x.โ
โLook, I think everyone can have their own opinion. I donโt agree with Margaretโs opinion,โ Stosur said at the French Open in Paris, as reported by ABC.
โThatโs why Casey was, obviously, very adamant about that and I wanted to support my friend and thatโs why I sent out my first tweet in a very long time.โ
โAnd, look, itโs just not something that I agree with. I think we definitely should have it (same-sex marriage) in Australia.โ
Stosur went on to say she didnโt think Margaret Court Arena would be renamed, but that players may choose to avoid it during the Australian Open.
โThe courtโs named Margaret Court Arena because of what she did in tennis, and thatโs why basically. But I guess weโll cross that bridge when we all get down to the Australian Open next year and (see) who wants to play on Margaret Court Arena and who doesnโt, and weโll go from there.โ
