Following hot on the heels of Timothรฉe Chalametโ€™s transformation into Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, the Bruce Springsteen biopic trailer takes Jeremy Allen White out of The Bearโ€™s kitchen and onto the stage.

Fans of the New Jersey juggernaut can breathe a sign of relief, after the teaser showed what appears to be an authentic representation of the acclaimed singerโ€™s early formative years.

The film, which is due to be released in cinemas on October 24, 2025, looks primed for Oscars buzz, as the voice of Springsteenโ€™s record producer and longtime manager Jon Landau (played by Jeremy Strong) rises over scenes of the young musician on the verge of greatness.

โ€œThis is not about either one of us, this is not about the charts,โ€ Landau explains to a music executive in the first clip. โ€œThis is about Bruce Springsteen, and these are the songs he wants to work on right now.โ€

Based on the making of Springsteenโ€™s seminal record Nebraska, the sentiment is at once arresting, and inspiring. โ€œLet me tell you a little story,โ€ Landau continues. โ€œWhen Bruce was little, he had a hole in the floor of his bedroom. The floor โ€“ itโ€™s supposed to be solid, youโ€™re supposed to be able to stand on it. Bruce, he didnโ€™t have that.

โ€œBruce is a repair man. And what heโ€™s doing with this album is, heโ€™s repairing that hole in his floor. Heโ€™s repairing that hole in himself. And once heโ€™s done that, heโ€™s gonna repair the entire world.โ€

The quote is particularly relevant to the albumโ€™s history, with Springsteen famously laying down the first versions of Nebraska from his bedroom on a 4-track recorder.

Whether youโ€™re a fan of The Boss, or not, thereโ€™s no denying Allen Whiteโ€™s transformation is one of the more authentic representations in the biopic universe.

Providing viewers with an authentic experience was important to the filmโ€™s director Scott Cooper, and White himself, so when Springsteen confirmed the news in January with a glowing endorsement, it was all fans needed to get on board.

โ€œHe sings well, he sings very well,โ€ Springsteen told E Street Radio. โ€œJeremy Strong and Odessa Young, you know, itโ€™s a tremendous cast of people. THey cast the film beautifully, so itโ€™s very exciting.
