Austereo have confirmed they are looking at Carrie Bickmore to take over Hamish and Andyโs slot on the radio.
The Project host was reportedly offered $1.5 million dollars to replace the comedic duoโs drive time slot. Austereoโs chief creative officer Guy Dobson said her success with her radio show on the Hit Network, which she co-hosts with Tommy Little, has made her a prime candidate for replacing Hamish and Andy.
โCarrie and Tommy have done extremely well for us and audiences love them,โ Guy said to The Sydney Morning Herald.
โTheyโre in the box seat, but we are talking to lots of people.โ
Hamish and Andy will finish up their on-air radio commitments at the end of the year so they can pursue other projects, including their TV show True Story.
Itโs unclear whether Carrie would leave The Project if she were to replace Hamish and Andyโs radio slot.
