The Project host was reportedly offered $1.5 million dollars to replace the comedic duoโ€™s drive time slot. Austereoโ€™s chief creative officer Guy Dobson said her success with her radio show on the Hit Network, which she co-hosts with Tommy Little, has made her a prime candidate for replacing Hamish and Andy.

โ€˜Carrie and Tommy have done extremely well for us and audiences love them,โ€™ Guy said to The Sydney Morning Herald.

โ€˜Theyโ€™re in the box seat, but we are talking to lots of people.โ€™

Hamish and Andy will finish up their on-air radio commitments at the end of the year so they can pursue other projects, including their TV show True Story.

Itโ€™s unclear whether Carrie would leave The Project if she were to replace Hamish and Andyโ€™s radio slot.
