After a season defined by chaos and catastrophic decision-making, the finale didn’t tie things up so much as leave every character suspended between rock bottom and redemption.
At the centre of it all was Rue Bennett. Her relapse reached devastating heights, culminating in a brutal intervention that forced her to confront the damage she’d caused—especially to Jules Vaughn. By the finale, Rue offered a flicker of hope, narrating that she stayed sober for the rest of the school year. It was tentative and unresolved—but then, Euphoria has never dealt in clean endings.
Elsewhere, the fallout between Cassie Howard and Maddy Perez hit full implosion territory. Cassie’s secret relationship with Nate Jacobs came to light during Lexi Howard’s now-infamous school play—a thinly veiled retelling of their lives that forced everyone to confront uncomfortable truths. Nate, in particular, couldn’t stomach it, walking out mid-performance.
His arc took a darker turn from there. In a move that felt equal parts calculated and inevitable, Nate handed over incriminating evidence against his father, Cal Jacobs, leading to Cal’s arrest—and shifting the already toxic family dynamic.
Meanwhile, Fezco and Ashtray’s storyline ended in tragedy. A police raid escalated into a violent shootout, resulting in Ashtray’s death and Fezco’s arrest—cutting short his connection with Lexi.
