Farmer Thomas Leaves Early With Clarette
Ever since early frontrunner Claire decided to ditch Farmer Thomas for greener pastures, he’s been keen to hold onto his remaining ladies for fear of someone else following suit. But even though he’s managed to narrow it down to three remaining ladies, there’s one contestant in particular that has Farmer Thomas quaking in his steel-capped boots. That one person being Clarette (not to be confused with Claire) – whose connection with Thomas was quickly cemented in the post-Claire wake.
Up until now it wasn’t clear who he’d be taking into the next stage of his romantic life. But that’s all reportedly about to change, as FWAW insiders revealed another couple has indeed departed the show to start their love story together and that couple is Clarette and Farmer Thomas.
“The producers begged him to stay but he was already gone,” the insider told Woman’s Day of the Kimba-based farmer’s decision to leave just weeks before the scheduled finale.
“Whether it was Clarette calling the shots or Farmer Thomas simply being over the whole thing, there was no convincing him to stick around,” the source added. “His mind was made up and that was that.”
Whether the alleged decision was brought on by the argument that led to Farmer Thomas going missing for 24-hours, is yet to be seen, but the shock departure has sent producers into a tailspin, with the insider claiming the team’s still reeling from early pairings like Jarrad and Chloe and Tom and Georgie.
“The show has never seen so many farmers leave this early into filming. In fact, it marks the highest number of farmers abandoning production in the franchise’s global history,” they said.
The Farmer Thomas Texting Scandal
Farmer Thomas has been put through the emotional wringer this season. Not only did the lady he felt an instant connection with bail after “the best date [he’s] ever had”, but her presence continued to haunt the rural bachelor in myriad ways as the show went on.
Although he was swift to pronounce those initial feelings for ex-contestant Claire dead in the water, his actions failed to follow through, as he continued to stay in contact with Claire – much to the chagrin of remaining contestant, Clarette.
Most recently, Clarette called him out for it, threatening to leave if he was unable to cut all ties, and for a while, things seemed to be going smoothly. That was until last week’s episode when Farmer Thomas stormed off the farm in frustration. At the time, the audience was given a taste of the text messages in question, but since then, the true extent of the content has been revealed.
Screenshots of messages shared with Women’s Day (assumedly from Claire herself) paint a damning picture of Farmer Thomas’ affections to say the least.
One message reads: “Thanks 4 [sic] coming to see me beautiful. U [sic] will always be my best memories on the farm wish I could of made many more and u [sic] will always have a spot in my heart.”
“I wish u [sic] the best 4 [sic] the future and look forward to seeing u [sic] again one day,” it continued, finishing with the most damning line of all: “Maybe come back and save me from Clarette please.”
Oh boy.
Farmer Jarrad & Chloe Break Up After 3 Days
Farmer Jarrad proved the most decisive of the four farmers by making romantic moves just three weeks into his Farmer Wants A Wife journey, when he chose to let go, not one, but two potential matches on episode 5. Just one episode later and he’d declared his love for Chloe and the two set off into the sunset to start their lives together.
That was, until the reality of the situation hit and Jarrad reportedly grew to regret his decision. “They were together just a few days before Chloe and Jarrad both realised this was never going to be a long-term thing,” a source revealed to Woman’s Day.
“Jarrad apparently had a master plan from the get-go following his FWAW exit. While many within the Stanthorpe community, where he lives, know he was open to finding love, he made no secret this was also going to help his country music career. So he jumped in headfirst and in the end had a bit of fun.”
The question of whether Farmer Jarrad and Chloe are still together was brought up again after the couple returned to FWAW on this week’s episode, but regardless, all signs point to the pair being far from coupled-up IRL.
