Naturall, Daniel Craig will be reprising his role as the dreary (but loveable) private investigator—and in keeping with tradition, he’ll be bringing some starry names along for the ride.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery Cast

From the first two installments, it’s clear that Writer-director Rian Johnson takes his casting selection very seriously, calling the process akin to “throwing a dinner party.”

“We’ve been very lucky with each of these movies to have gathered some of my favorite actors on the planet, and that’s absolutely the case here,” Johnson told Tudum.

“They’re also all lovely folks who get along, which is the dinner party aspect of it. When you’re making an ensemble movie like this, I think that’s key.”

It goes without saying that there is no Knives Out 3 without the inimitable Benoit Blanc, played by Daniel Craig. This generation’s Poirot, Blanc is the ultimate whodunit master, quietly observing the cast of suspects from the sidelines to solve the mystery at hand.

Looking to Young Hollywood’s most promising once again for Knives Out 3, Johnson tapped a slew of buzzy names to make up the list of suspects in Wake Up Dead Man film.

We know that Josh O’Connor—who broke through with his role a young Prince Charles in The Crown, before stunning in this year’s hit Challengers—is on board to play a character that’s destined to appear on our list of favourite fictional hot priests.

He’ll be joined by Cailee Spaeny, who starred as the titular character in Sophia Coppola’s Priscilla last year. Further, we have confirmation that Ripley and Fleabag actor Andrew Scott will also be dipping his toes in the mystery genre – though his exact character remains under wraps.

The plot of Wake Up Dead Man is being kept largely under wraps but based on the title we can expect Benoit to have to deal with a dead body (doesn’t he always?).

The only morsel of information we have is in the form of a coy teaser Netflix has released. In the trailer, Benoit narrates, “The “impossible crime.” For a man of reason this is the Holy Grail. This was dressed as a miracle. But it’s just a murder, and I solve the murders.” As for what that actually means is currently anyone’s guess.
