Off Campus season two is set to have double the Di Laurentis factor, and we’re not just talking about our favourite heartthrob Dean. Prime Video announced today that Shay Rudolph has joined the cast of the hit romance hockey drama as Summer Di Laurentis – Dean’s little sister.
According to an official press release by Prime, Rudolph will be an official “guest star” of season two. Their announcement via social media was far more casual, comparing the characters’ likeness as a ‘copy and paste’.
So who is the newest cast member and where does Summer fit into the show and books?

Who Is Summer Di Laurentis & What Is Her Off Campus Book?
Those who have read the Off Campus books will already know the Summer Di Laurentis lore runs deep. In fact, many are hoping her introduction to the series will mean next-gen characters like Jake Connelly and Hunter Davenport, the latter of whom we’ve already met on screen, may appear in the show later down the line.
Summer is the younger sister of Dean Heyward Di Laurentis and pops up in the original Off Campus books, first appearing in her brother’s novel, The Score. The darling of the Di Laurentis family also becomes the FMC of her own book, The Chase, which is part of the Briar U spin-off.
At one point, Hunter Davenport develops an unrequited crush on Summer. But, this is where book and show diverge.
In the novel, Hunter and Dean are friendly, and even though the crush is unrequited, all is relatively well between them. In season one of the show, however, a long-term animosity between Dean and Hunter is made clear, with a past romance-gone-wrong with Summer hinted at as the cause.
There’s no doubt this deviation from the book, combined with Allie’s entanglement with Hunter, will prove as kindling for a very dramatic season two.
Who Is Shay Rudolph?
So, what do we know about Shay Rudolph aka Off Campus’ official Summer Di Laurentis?
According to her official bio, per Prime Video, the 20-year-old American actress from San Diego began her career in local musical theatre before landing a major recurring Guest Star role on FOX’s Lethal Weapon.
She also has acting credits Netflix’s beloved reboot of The Baby-Sitters Club, the highly anticipated Holes reboot, The Present, where she starred opposite Isla Fisher and the film She Keeps Me Young.
