Big news for the book girlies
Daisy Edgar Jones' Sense & Sensibility

It’s a fact of life that the limit to Jane Austen adaptations simply does not exist. And, delightfully so because we now have a new Sense & Sensibility movie in the works starring none other than veritable it-girl, Daisy Edgar-Jones.

Following in the footsteps of the 1995 film starring Hugh Grant, Kate Winslet and Emma Thompson as well as multiple television adaptations, Edgar-Jones will star as the lead, Elinor Dashwood.

The 27-year-old, who first rose to fame on hit series, Normal People, took to Instagram on June 25th to confirm the news, snapping a selfie holding the iconic novel, simply captioning the post with eye emojis.

For those unfamiliar with the original works, Sense & Sensibility tells the story of sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood who find themselves in financial troubles after the passing of their father. Their hope for a decent life then lies in finding potential suitors.

What’s more exciting about this new film is the team behind it…

New Sense & Sensibility Movie Cast

As far as on-screen casting for the new Sense & Sensibility adaptation, Daisy Edgar-Jones is the first and only announcement so far.

For cinephiles, the team behind the camera proves just as exciting.

Focus Features and Working Title Films, the companies responsibly for previous Austen adaptations of the 2005 Pride & Prejudice and 2020 film Emma are once again collaborating on the project. BAFTA nominee Georgia Oakley will also direct.
