The Disgusting Test ‘Married At First Sight’ Stars Must Submit To

No thanks

Signing up to Married At First Sight is no easy feat. MAFS expert Dr Trisha Stafford chatted to A Current Affair earlier this week and revealed that the contestants are matched on more than just their personality – but scientifically. All contestants, once picked, will undergo pheromone testing.

“They sniff T-shirts,” she said. “They get sent a T-shirt out and they have to put it in a snap lock bag every night and wear it to bed and no deodorants, no spicy foods.”

“They do that for a week and then they send it in and they smell each other’s T-shirts.”

ACA reporter Reid Butler summed it up aptly, “That sounds really, really gross.”

On the premiere episode, the series was mocked on Twitter after expert Dr Stafford was shown in a laboratory and lab coat.
