Of course, Maya’s news is hardly surprising. In the most recent, fifth season of Selling Sunset, Maya announced that she would officially be leaving the West Hollywood brokerage.
As fans would already know, Maya shares two children with her husband, David Miller, who is based in Miami due to his work. Tragically, the couple lost their third child, who was to be named Mason, after her pregnancy ended as a stillbirth in December 2021.
“I know I have no choice but [to go] to work and my old routine… That being said, it’s been difficult to still process and seek answers,” she told The New York Post at the time.
For the five seasons that Selling Sunset has been gracing our screens, Maya has been balancing her career and family life between Los Angeles and Miami. In fact, she spent most of the series trying to convince her boss, Jason Oppenheim, to open a Miami-based branch of the business, so she could be based closer to her loved ones.
Unable to do so, it came as no surprise that Maya made the decision to leave the Oppenheim Group and venture out on her own. Here’s hoping that Netflix spin-off series is in the works—listen, Maya in Miami has a ring to it.
