Miley Cyrus Uses This Test To Figure Out The Health Of A Relationship And We’re Trying It ASAP

"If they were subtracting, you know what you will not accept ever again”

In the past week, Miley Cyrus has opened up about her past relationships, including her recent split from boyfriend Cody Simpson.

Following the release of her new single “Midnight Sky”, the musician revealed the method she uses to figure out whether a new relationship is healthy or not.

Appearing on the podcast Call Her Daddy, Cyrus shared the simple test that she swears by to determine the future success of a new relationship, and it’s kind of genius. She also explained how her method has opened her eyes to the downfalls of her past relationships, and how it helps her take on a new one.

“Make a list of what you were gaining and what you were losing [in the relationship]. What they were contributing to your life, and what they were subtracting,” said Cyrus.

“Value each of these things by one through to ten. Then add it: if they did add more to your life, then you know what you expect for your next relationship. If they were subtracting, you know what you will not accept ever again.”

Prior to sharing her method for romantic success, Cyrus confessed that her personality is naturally very methodical. “I’m very logical, very organised, very centred—so I love lists,” she confessed. “They keep my world in check, I’d be a wreck without lists.”

The 27-year-old continued to delve into past relationships, including her public divorce from Liam Hemsworth in 2019 and her romance with Kaitlynn Carter.

She also voiced her opinion on how the media portrayed her through each of those milestones in her life, even during her recent split from Cody Simpson.

“I feel like, as a woman, I was villainised for moving on and I really feel like that isn’t acceptable,” she admitted. “[The media] made me seem disloyal, which is so against my f***ing character… And my character is everything that is my foundation.”

While the reason for their break-up has not been revealed, Cyrus did confirm that she and Simpson had decided to part ways while on her Instagram Live.

“We are just deciding who we wanna be in our lives, what we wanna do, and so, don’t make it some drama story if next week we’re hanging out, getting pizza,” she openly told her followers.

“We’ve been friends for 10 years and we’re going to continue to be friends, so just don’t make it something that it is not.”
