Forget soft-launches Austin Butler and Zoe Kravitz are making the quiet, glamorous reveal the new dating playbook.
The Caught Stealing co-stars glided the carpet with smouldering side glances, whispered asides and the kind of subtle body language that made the internet lose its collective cool.
Within hours, “Austin and Zoe” became the what if pairing we all so desperately needed to believe it. So are they actually dating?
Are Austin Butler & Zoe Kravitz Dating?
At the August 21 premiere for their new film, Butler in his sharp tailoring and Zoe in a sleek slip dress gave a master-class in low-key elegance.
Following the premiere the duo were spotted getting cosy in the corner of a dimly lit Paris bar, leaning in close making it hard to tell where the film’s chemistry ended and where real life begun.

On the press tour, Butler has shown a demure protectiveness toward Kravitz not unlike a boyfriend.
From the way he instinctively reaches for her hand on the crowded carpets or leans in to catch her words over the intrusive photographers, the gestures are subtle – but oh so telling.
It’s the kind of chemistry you can’t choreograph, and shows why people are so captivated.
Just Friends?
Sources close to the actors, let it slip to Page Six they are adamant they’re not officially dating. Despite the fact that they have been spotted together in New York, and that their press tour banter has the back and forth of a modern rom-com.
The line is that they’re friends. Which, of course, only makes the speculation louder.
When Did Austin Butler & Kaia Gerber Break Up?
Part of the fascination comes down to timing. Kravitz ended her engagement to Channing Tatum late last year, after two years together.
Not long after, Butler split from model Kaia Gerber in January, following a high-profile romance that stretched back to 2021.
With both stars freshly single, their closeness feels all the more intriguing.

Whether they’re quietly dating or just leaning into good publicity, Butler and Kravitz have already won the press tour.
They’ve given us a mystery, a little more glamour, and the promise of something more. And frankly we are living for whatever breadcrumbs we can get.
