Princess Catherine was pretty in pink as she joined the Prince of Wales to welcome President Macron and his wife to England on day one of their French state visit.
The pair greeted the diplomatic party at RAF Northolt in north-west London before travelling back to Windsor together.
To celebrate the first French state visit to the UK since 2008, Kate Middleton opted for a Dior skirt and 30 Montaigne Ros Des Vents Bar jacket from the French Maison’s 2024 collection. Inspired by Christian Dior’s original 1947 design, the blazer was reimagined by Maria Grazia Chiuri as part of her last collection before handing over the reins to Jonathan Anderson.
Pairing the pastel number with a hat by British milliner Jess Collett, the outfit choice was diplomacy dressing at its finest, bringing together the best of both French and British flair in a show of sartorial unity.

To complement the look, Kate Middleton paid homage to Princess Diana, by accessorising her outfit with her late mother-in-law’s Collingwood pearl-drop earrings. The heirlooms were a perfect match for the accompanying pearl necklace selected from Queen Elizabeth’s royal collection.
But the diplomatic dressing didn’t end there. To cap off the first day of the French president’s three-day state visit, the Prince and Princess of Wales joined King Charles and Queen Camilla in full royal regalia for a banquet held at Windsor Castle.
Catherine marked the occasion by changing into a caped red gown designed by Givenchy’s Sarah Burton – the very same designer responsible for bringing her iconic wedding dress to life while she was at the helm of Alexander McQueen.
Wearing the Lover’s Knot Tiara – another beloved piece from the Princess Diana archives – her appearance at the state banquet (her first in nearly two years) was also a welcome sign that Princess Catherine is settling back into public life following her cancer diagnosis in 2024.
