Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex and wife of Prince Harry, is making moves in the business world—first, with the announcement of her Netflix series and, now, the renaming of her jam brand.
Originally named ‘American Riviera Orchard‘ the brand is technically a lot more than fruit preserves, although, the Duchess reassures us there will still be plenty of those. Meghan has been nurturing her very own lifestyle brand to rival Martha Stewart or Gwyneth’s Goop—and the name has now been changed to ‘As Ever’.
Meghan took to her recently-relaunched Instagram to make the announcement. Speaking directly to her phone camera she begins, “Cat’s out of the bag.” Glowing in a white linen button-up and blue jeans as she crouches in her garden, Meghan continued to detail her excitement for her upcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, which premieres in two weeks, before announcing some news about her business.
“Last year I thought American Riviera Orchard is a great name… but it limited me to things that were manufactured and grown in this area,” she said. “Then Netflix came on, not just as my partner in the show but as my partner in business. So I thought about it. And I’ve been waiting for a moment to share a name I’d secured in 2022, and this is the moment. And it’s called, ‘As Ever’.”
Meghan is no stranger to lifestyle brands, having previously headed the aforementioned blog and business venture, The Tig. She’s since continued her love of all things food and wellness-related, launching American Riviera Orchard in 2024, and launching her product suite with a jar of strawberry jam. For those concerned they’ll never get a chance to try it, don’t worry: Meghan has provided verbal confirmation that the jams will go on.
“Of course, there will be fruit preserves. I think we’re all clear at this point that jam is my jam,” she said in her video. “But there are so many more products that I love, that I use in my home, and now it’s time to share it with you.”
Meghan, 43, and Prince Harry (whose British accent you can hear very quickly at the start of the above video), have released multiple Netflix series over the years, including Harry & Meghan (about their relationship), Heart Of Invictus (about the Invictus Games), Polo (about a polo championship) and now, With Love, Meghan. The latter will premiere in March 2025.
What Does ‘As Ever’ Mean?
Explaining the new name of her lifestyle brand, Meghan said: “As Ever essentially means, ‘as it’s always been’. And if you’ve been with me since 2014 with The Tig, you know I’ve always loved cooking, and crafting, and gardening. This is what I do, and I haven’t been able to share it with you in the same way in the past few years, but now I can.”
In other words, Meghan is calling back to her roots in the lifestyle space, proclaiming that—even as things change—they are “as ever”.
