A Sydney father will face sentencing next month for leaving his young son in a car alone for an hour while he played the pokies.
The 32-year-old man, who has pleaded guilty, has admitted that he left his 5-year-old boy in his car on a 40-degree day outside the Guildford Hotel last month.
As Nine News reports, the father allegedly spent an hour inside hotel playing gaming machines while his son stayed in the air-conditioned car.
Police were alerted when a parking inspector found the vehicle with the little boy inside.
