At 20-years-old, Lady Louise Windsor is already following in the footsteps of her royal family. As the late-Queen Elizabeth’s youngest granddaughter, people have noticed the young royal’s resemblance to her grandmother in both looks and personality. Beloved for her understated elegance and down-to-earth demeanour, it’s fair to say that Lady Louise already has quite the dedicated fan base.

Below, everything you need to know about the young royal.

Who Are Lady Louise Windsor’s Parents?

Lady Louise is the daughter of Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie of Edinburgh. This makes her the granddaughter of the late-Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip, niece of King Charles III and 16th in line to the British throne.

Her younger brother James, Earl of Wessex, is 15th in line to the throne, due to being born prior to the Succession of the Crown Act 2013, which allowed eldest children to remain ahead in line to the throne, regardless of their gender.

When Was Lady Louise Born?

Lady Louise was born prematurely at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey, England, on November 8, 2003. Due to Lady Louise’s early arrival, her father, Prince Edward was away at the time of her birth.

Her early birth also came with a few complications, including a placental abruption, which led to severe blood loss for both Sophie and Lady Louise.

Lady Louise was also born with esotropia, a condition that turns the eyes outwards. This meant that the young royal had problems with her vision as a child, and was required to undergo two surgeries to fix it. Luckily, the surgeries were successful and Lady Louise now has perfect vision.

What Are Lady Louise’s Interests?

Lady Louise shares her late grandfather, The Duke Of Edinburgh’s interest (and skills) in carriage driving. The young royal is believed to have inherited Prince Philip’s driving ponies and carriage after his death, and showed off her talents at the Platinum Jubilee Royal Windsor Horse Show in 2022.

Does Lady Louise Study Or Work?

Yes, Lady Louise is currently in her second year at St Andrews University (the same university where her cousin, Prince William, met his wife, Kate). A Buckingham spokesperson previously confirmed the royal is studying English.

She has previously worked at a local garden store to reportedly save up for her second-hand Volkswagen Polo, after refusing the HRH style she was offered at 18.
