Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jones are officially married and they’re sharing their extravagant wedding celebrations with us. The big event took place at Umaid Bhawan Palace in India on Saturday.
The newlyweds confirmed their husband and wife status with photos from their pre-wedding Mehendi ceremony, a Hindu wedding ritual that happens one day before the couple says, “I do.”
While the bride hasn’t shared any photos of her custom Ralph Lauren wedding dress yet, we can only imagine its stunning after seeing what she wore to the friends and family celebration.
“One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other’s faiths and cultures,” Jonas and Chopra both captioned their posts on Instagram.
“And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so so amazing. An important part for the girl in an Indian wedding is the Mehendi. Once again we made it our own and it was an afternoon that kicked off the celebrations in the way we both dreamed.”
The wedding celebrations didn’t stop there, the bride and groom also showed off their creativity in a traditional dance competition, called a Sangeet.
On Sunday, Chopra shared photos and a short video of the performances, which likely took place on Friday evening and went well into the next morning. “It all began as a fierce song & dance competition between the families but ended, as always, as a huge celebration of love,” the actress captioned her post on Instagram.
Priyanka joked, “people will need vacations after this wedding,” during an interview with Vogue.
