When Nicole Kidman presented his film Bohemian Rhapsody with the best motion picture award, Malek went on stage to graciously accept the prize – only to be brutally snubbed by Kidman.
Footage of the cringeworthy moment shows Malek trying to talk to Kidman before she turned her back to him. He then placed his hand on her back to try and get her attention, without any luck.
Malek saw the footage for the first time on Jimmy Kimmel Live, saying, “I have a feeling this is probably haunting me on the Internet.”
Yeah mate, the video has already been viewed over 100,000 times on YouTube.
Talking to Kimmel, Malek explained what was going through his mind on stage with Kidman, “I’ve known her for many years, despite as it may seem from that video, so I thought I could easily go up and say hi.”
Clearly he thought wrong.
Kidman’s husband Keith Urban made up for the snub later in the night though, Malek explained, “That’s all right. I got love from Keith that night. A massive Queen fan.”
