The Iconic Cottage From ‘The Holiday’ Is About To Land On AirBnB

A trip to Surrey, anyone?

With Christmas on our doorstep, it’s safe to say that we’ve likely all been indulging in some of the festive film classics—particularly those of the Nancy Meyers variety.

Arguably one of the greatest romcoms to date, The Holiday has everything we ask for in a Christmas film; snow, romance, and cosy interiors that leave us yearning for a house swap. Well, in great news, Rosehill Cottage, owned by Iris (Kate Winslet) and rented by Amanda (Cameron Diaz) in the film, is set to be available on Airbnb in the new year.

Located in Holmbury St Mary, Surrey—about an hour’s drive from London—the quintessential British cottage, named Honeysuckle Cottage is nestled amongst the Surrey Hills, surrounded by hedgerows, trees and a flagstone fence that feels straight out of a storybook. With all its rustic charm, it’s no wonder it made the perfect setting for the glamorous Amanda to fall in love with Iris’ small town brother Graham (played by Jude Law).

And while an Atlanta interior designer has created an exact replica that you can stay in, Honeysuckle cottage itself is now up for rent as of January 2023.

According to its AirBnb page, the home from The Holiday sleeps five guests across three bedrooms, with two double bedrooms and one single bedroom. There’s a bath to unwind in—no, sorry, not the one Cameron Diaz squeezed into—two toilets and a utility room.

And though the exterior is what inspired the film’s setting, its real-life interiors retain the warm country style with original wooden beams, inglenook fireplace and log burner fireplace. On the ground floor, you’ll also find underfloor heating and a retro AGA cooker in the kitchen. There’s also a dining room, reading nook and expansive backyard.

Just one look at the real home and all its enchanting details and it’s clear what the Hollywood scouters were drawn to. Although, it should be noted that while it was made in its image, the scenes were actually filmed on a replica set in Hollywood.

So if you’re lacking in inspiration for your next holiday, might we suggest a trip to the British countryside?
