You’ll never watch an episode of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette the same way after witnessing the uncanny drama series UnREAL.
For the uninitiated, the critically acclaimed show follows the machinations of reality television producers Rachel (Shiri Appleby) and Quinn (Constance Zimmer), on the dating show Everlasting (which feels eerily similar to The Bachelor). Their mantra? “Money. Dick. Power.”
On Everlasting, everything is possible in the name of ratings, from the questionable manipulation of contestants, to off-camera hookups and even death.
Ahead of UnREAL season three, Lifetime has released a trailer for the series along with the premiere date (February 26, for those wondering).
This time around, Everlasting will feature a female “suitress” (Caitlin FitzGerald) and a mansion full of shirtless eligible bachelors. “She’s smart,” Rachel observes of the new suitress. “We can’t handle her the same way.”
In the trailer, Quinn promises this season of their reality show will be unmissable after a producer discovers a large huge clump of blond hair.
“His man bun! Someone cut it off while he was sleeping,” Madison (Genevieve Buchner) announces in control room.
“That is television gold,” a thrilled Quinn replies.
We wouldn’t have been surprised if the same thing happened to man bun enthusiast Sam on this year’s Bachelorette.
