We tend to showcase only our best selves on social media, hiding any perceived flaws, but 21-year-old Lauren (last name not disclosed) has gone viral for her hilarious – and refreshingly honest – Tinder profile.
Lauren, who lost her arm in a moped accident last year, makes no attempt to hide her injury on Tinder (why should she?), and instead uses it to hilarious effect. Her job title? ‘Arms dealer.’ Here it is in full:
“For a while, I wasn’t ok with the jokes,” Lauren told Buzzfeed. “But then I started telling the jokes, and it’s kind of helped.”
“I have never really hid it,” she adds. “People don’t see that very often, so a lot of people DM me to tell me it’s really helpful to them, people who are also missing limbs or are disabled.”
Since her Tinder profile has taken off, Lauren has been inundated with marriage proposals, reports Refinery29, and people wanting to date her/be her/congratulate her.
