We’re Reinventing Our Skincare Routine This Year

Ready for a fresh start? These simple skincare tweaks are the recipe for success.

This year we’re embracing the season of new beginnings by rethinking our skincare routines and resetting our beauty goals, curating them around everything we want for 2024.

While we are excited to introduce some new products into our regimens (we’re looking at you Dr. LeWinn’s Cleanser Series), we are also overhauling the way we approach skincare in a more holistic way, and creating a sensorial experience around this daily ritual so we can enjoy the practice as an act of self-love, self-care and reflection.

Ready to join us on this journey toward brighter, smoother, and more radiant skin? Here are six ways we are reinventing our skincare routine this year.

1. A Simplified Routine

We all know it is possible to overcomplicate skincare, and over-using some products can disrupt the skin barrier, worsen skin redness or increase skin sensitivities, among other things. So this year we are paring things right back to gentle products that cater for our individual needs.

Clearing out your vanity of any old creams or makeup that has expired and streamlining your routine to ensure that it is simple, easy to follow and includes well thought-out products and active ingredients will work best.

2. Cleansing Consistently

Cleansing morning and night is a given and needs no reinvention. But the products we choose to keep our skin clean and free of dirt may need an update. Step forward, Dr. LeWinn’s Cleanser Series.

The Daily Cleansing Balm and Daily Polishing Powder are the two newest innovations from the respected skincare brand. Dermatologically tested they are suitable for sensitive skin, and work as a single or double-cleanse solution.

Packed with innovative ingredients the Daily Cleansing Balm contains shea butter, jojoba oil, squalane and hyaluronic acid to leave the skin feeling balanced and hydrated. While the Daily Polishing Powder is a mild amino-based powder cleanser that contains physical and chemical exfoliants to instantly polish and resurface skin. Gentle enough for everyday use, it contains niacinamide and salicylic acid.

Do you know the benefits of double cleansing?

Double cleansing with a cleansing balm first in the evening helps to remove sunscreen, makeup and environmental pollutants without stripping the skin. The second cleanse then allows for more thoroughly cleansed skin.

Dr. LeWinn’s Daily Cleansing Balm 100g, $54.95, is an innovative solid balm-to-oil cleanser that’s gentle enough for everyday use and sensitive skin. The balm nourishes skin, protects the skin barrier, gently melts away make-up, SPF and daily pollution. Made with shea butter, jojoba oil, squalane and hyaluronic acid.

3. Sensorial Escape

We are transforming our skincare routine into a sensorial experience that’s all about products with enticing textures and delightful scents. It’s so easy to engage your senses with gentle massages during skincare application, turning each step into a self-care ritual.

Dr. LeWinn’s new Cleanser Series works perfectly here, as it combines unique texture and formulations that elevate our routines to a daily indulgence, making skincare a pleasurable and rejuvenating experience (we are obsessed with the innovative powder-to-foam, and balm-to-oil, which are dreamy to use).

4. Incorporating Actives

The skincare saviours we never knew we needed, actives target specific skin concerns, so this year we are incorporating products that contain the actives that work for our own skin types. Examples include:

  • Niacinamide for reducing redness and improving skin texture.
  • Salicylic acid to exfoliate dead skin cells.
  • Retinoids (Retinol) for anti-ageing and acne.
  • Vitamin C for brightening and collagen production.
  • Hyaluronic acid for hydration.

5. A Holistic Lifestyle Is Key

While the skincare products we apply are important, we’ve made a promise to embrace a holistic lifestyle approach to our skin health. We are identifying our beauty goals for the year, and working on ways to achieve them, with a combination of lifestyle changes, nutritious foods, supplements, exercise and skincare.

6. Wearing SPF All Year Round

We know that at this time of year SPF is mandatory, but skin can be damaged by UVA and UVB rays all year round, not just during the summer months, so it’s something we won’t be swapping out. Instead, we’ll be applying the skin saviour daily, all year round.
