What happens when the ancient game of chess meets the art of perfumery? The answer is Mind Games — a genderless fragrance collection that transforms intellectual tension into something you can wear. We spoke with co-founders Mariana and Alex about strategy, scent, and the psychology of a well-played move.
Chess is a game of logic and foresight — not the most obvious inspiration for a fragrance collection. Yet for Mariana and Alex, the parallels were undeniable. “We approach fragrance as an extension of strategy,” Mariana explains. “Each composition unfolds with purpose, revealing layers that feel both deliberate and instinctive — much like the rhythm of a well-played game.”
At the heart of the collection is a fascination with psychological space — not the bold, decisive move, but the charged moment before it. “The quiet moment of anticipation, the balance between control and risk,” says Alex. “The fragrance reflects that tension, evolving in a way that feels measured yet unexpected.” It’s a reminder that in both chess and perfumery, restraint can be the most powerful play of all.

Designed to be entirely genderless, Mind Games resists the conventions that have long defined fragrance. “We create without boundaries,” says Mariana, “focusing on balance, texture, and emotion.” The result is an expansive olfactive palette where strength and softness coexist — compositions that feel deeply individual rather than defined by expectation.
What the duo describe as “extreme olfactive signatures” is less about shock value and more about clarity of identity. “Compositions that are unmistakable in character and lasting in impression,” Alex explains. “Each element is placed with purpose and confidence.” Think unexpected pairings, deliberate emphasis, and a refusal to be forgettable.
As for the experience of wearing it? “There is an immediate sense of intrigue,” Mariana says. “As the fragrance develops, it reveals greater depth, becoming more grounded and composed. The dry-down settles into confidence and clarity.” Much like chess itself, the deeper you go, the more it reveals.
