Charlotte Tilbury Extends Cult-Favourite Pillow Talk Line With Twiggy, Kate Moss & Jourdan Dunn

One does not think of Charlotte Tilbury without two words coming to mind—Pillow Talk.

Billed by fans as the best pinky-nude on the planet, Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk collection has completely redefined the term cult-classic, ever since its conception.

A shade from Charlotte Tilbury‘s Matte Revolution lipstick range, the romantic hue skyrocketed to worldwide fame after becoming a universal ‘your lips but better’ neutral hue. In fact, it’s so popular that a tube is sold every two minutes.

Nine years after Charlotte Tilbury first opened its doors, the cult-favourite shade is now celebrated in a range of lip products and eyeshadow palettes and lives on as one of the most celebrated and successful brands on the market.

Now, the Pillow Talk collection is expanding with the launch of four new products that are set to elevate your party-ready look. The new additions to the iconic Pillow Talk collection are: the Multi-Glow Highlighter, the Push Up Lashes! Mascara, Beautifying Glow Cheek and Eye Kit, and finally, the Luxury Eyeshadow Palette.

A crew of British A-listers are celebrating the extension of the famous hue’s legacy with the new ‘Pillow Talk Party’ campaign. Led by world-famous British supermodels Twiggy, Kate Moss and Jourdan Dunn, the campaign sees these icons joining by a universe of rising beauty stars from Fernando Casablancas to Ceval Omar.

“It’s the perfect shade for everyone, everywhere, so it was really important to me that the universality of Pillow Talk was reflected in my incredible line-up of campaign stars—and we truly made that happen,”Charlotte Tilbury said in a press release.

“We had 16 inspiring, talented and beautiful superstars in this campaign, and I am so proud to welcome them all to my Pillow Talk family!”

Jam-packed with stars, this Charlotte Tilbury campaign brings the magic of Pillow Talk to life, thanks to its ageless, genderless and diverse suitability. 

“My gorgeous nieces Sofia and Bella and my amazing mother Patsy joined the party too, alongside rising stars Fernando Casablancas, Meg Rutherford and Ceval Omar, the energy and chemistry on set was incredible!” Tilbury continued.

But why were certain famous faces chosen for the campaign? Well, for starters, Kate Moss has a close affiliation with Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk since its inception.

“When I was using concealer to paint lips and mixing shades backstage in the ’90s to find the perfect nude, it was Kate I was testing them on,” Tilbury said. “When I created the perfect Pillow Talk shade, Kate was one of the first people to wear it on the red carpet—she’s always been my beauty muse!”

“I was delighted to work with my dear friend Charlotte again, for her Pillow Talk Party campaign,” Kate said in a statement.

“Charlotte and I have worked together for years—on countless shoots, campaigns & fashion shows and we always have so much fun,” she continued. 

With a bountiful collection of Pillow Talk to choose from, there’s one product that Kate can’t get enough of.

“Charlotte has used her iconic Pillow Talk products on me for years. […] I love the tones in the Pillow Talk collection, it’s been my go-to nude lipstick forever,” she admitted.

“I especially love the Pillow Talk Lip Cheat lip liner, it instantly gives the look of fuller, plumper lips, but so natural and subtle. From the new Pillow Talk Party collection, I love the multi-glow highlighter, it’s so pretty and adds a gorgeous shimmer to dial up any look!”

Speaking of iconic beauty muses, ’60s makeup icon Twiggy would know best—and Tilbury agrees.

“Twiggy is a beauty icon! She has always been an inspiration to me,” the makeup artist explained. “To have her star in this campaign is a dream come true! Twiggy was creating her own makeup looks in the ’60s—before makeup artists existed!”

“I was thrilled when Charlotte asked me to be part of this campaign,” Twiggy explained in a statement.

“We’ve been friends for a while, I love her and I truly admire what she has achieved. I adore her products, the quality is superb and packaging divine. The Pillow Talk shoot was great fun, and I loved doing the chat with Charlotte—we giggled a lot and I think the campaign looks gorgeous.”

But which product does Twiggy reach for first? Well, she opts for the Push Up Lashes Mascara in ‘Dream Pop’.

“Makeup has always been an important part of how I look—from the 1960s up until present day—especially eye makeup. It’s changed over the years but I don’t feel fully dressed and complete without my ‘eyes on’!” 

As for beauty, Twiggy (AKA the queen of lashes) has one genius recommendation for getting a pair of sky-high, fluttering lashes yourself. 

“Best beauty tip? Heating up my eyelash curlers with a hairdryer—it’s brilliant—just be careful, make sure they’re not too hot! After, apply mascara, works every time.”

When it came to Jourdan Dunn, well, Tilbury explained that she often uses the supermodel as her model for makeup innovations, so it would only make sense to circle back to her.

“It’s not a Pillow Talk party without my gorgeous friend and supermodel, Jourdan Dunn,” she said.

“She is not only fabulous—but she is so much fun to work with! From my Holiday campaign to Super Nudes to my recent Beautiful Skin Foundation—Jourdan has been the face of so many of my makeup innovations, and Pillow Talk is her perfect shade! I never do her makeup without some Pillow Talk magic!”

Diversity has always been paramount for Tilbury when expanding and experimenting on new work. And it’s for this reason that she also enlisted the help of Ceval Omar, a Somalian-Norwegian Ceval Omar.

The model and activist became the first black, trans, plus-size model to feature in British Vogue and has taken the fashion world by storm. They have fought hard to pioneer change in the fashion industry, through advocating for more inclusivity, accountability and awareness.

Joining Omar is Fernando Casablancas, who is a Brazilian-American model, artist and performer. Casablancas explores the intersection of performance, music and fine art, and uses his “incredible energy to bring the spirit of Pillow Talk Party” to life in the campaign.

The new Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk range will be available on the Charlotte Tilbury website and at MECCA from March 31, 2022.
