Some occasions call for more than a good outfit. They demand the outfit. The one you’ve been saving for something special, complete with fabulous accessories, a statement headpiece and perhaps a little sparkle.
Enter Moët & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day at Royal Randwick on Saturday 24 October, where the Sydney Everest Carnival is turning up the glamour for one final, fabulous hurrah.
With world-class racing, Champagne on ice and fashion that’s worthy of its own finish line, there’s plenty happening beyond the track. Here’s what to have on your radar.

The Fashion Forecast? All That Glitters
If ever there were an excuse to embrace your maximalist era, this is it.
The dress code inspiration for the Fashion Stakes Grand Finale is ‘All That Glitters’, which means metallics, bold colour, embellishments and a little sartorial drama are very much encouraged.
Think saturated colours, sculptural silhouettes and accessories that make an entrance. Whether you’re competing or simply dressing for the occasion, consider this your invitation to have some fun with fashion.
For those with their sights set on the ultimate fashion prize, the Carnival’s Best Dressed and Best Suited titles will be decided by a judging panel featuring Australian designer Mariam Seddiq among others. Celebrity stylist Donny Galella will be on hosting duties.

Entries close at 1pm, with live heats beginning at 2pm. May the best dressed win.
If your race day outfit is still a work in progress, don’t panic. A metallic accessory, statement earrings or a fabulous headpiece can bring even the simplest ensemble into ‘All That Glitters’ territory. And if you’re feeling particularly bold? This is your moment to let the sequins shine.
A Little Champagne Never Hurt
Of course, no glamorous day at the races would be complete without something sparkling in hand.
Moët & Chandon takes centre stage this Saturday, with ATC Members able to enjoy the Moët & Chandon Pavilion and its rather fabulous Champagne vending machine. Yes, you read that correctly.
For those making a proper occasion of it, The Stables offers reserved tables, a buffet luncheon and a six-hour beverage package, with the Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar and outdoor balcony adding to the trackside atmosphere.
Elsewhere, Members can explore The Promenade, home to Whispering Angel, Never Never Gin, Mr Black and a selection of dining options, while General Admission racegoers can enjoy a Chandon Spritz at the Chandon Spritz Bar or explore the food and drinks offerings at The Paddock.

Your Mid-Race Beauty Refresh
Need a little beauty maintenance between races?
The Pamper Pavilion is back at Royal Randwick, offering complimentary makeup touch-ups by Runway Room, express hairstyling and fashion illustrators ready to immortalise your raceday look.
There’s even a glass of Chandon on arrival, making it a particularly appealing pit-stop before heading back out to the action.
Open from 10.30am to 3.30pm, it’s the perfect opportunity to refresh your lippy, tame any fly-aways and ensure your look goes the distance.
One Last Thing: The After-Party
Just because the final race has been run doesn’t mean the celebrations have to end.
ATC Members can head to The Piano Room, where piano sensation Kylie Fisher will deliver a 90-minute live performance to close out the day.
After all, when you’ve made this much effort getting dressed, it would be a shame to call it an early night.
