Anyone with a medium-to-large bust knows the unique form of torture that is trying to find a sports bra that actually works. I’ve spent many years throwing tantrums in change rooms, wondering why it’s so hard to find something that’s supportive without being suffocating.
Thankfully, things have improved. We’re no longer stuck with sports bras that look like they were pulled straight from the ’80s fitness catalogue. Some are even—dare I say it—cute enough to wear on display.
The Best Sports Bras, According To marie claire:
When it comes to construction, Chloe de Winter, founder of Nala says that there are multiple design elements that go into minimising bounce.
“First off is a fabric with enough structure and support to hold the breasts firmly and comfortably,” she explains. “A higher apex can help contain the breast tissue and prevent spillage through the centre, while wider, supportive straps help distribute pressure more evenly across the shoulders.”
And while finding the right sports bra can prove challenging, de Winter is certain that it’s worthwhile. “When a bra fits your body properly, it can genuinely be life changing.”
So if you’ve ever struggled, trust me when I say I understand. Below, I’ve rounded up some of the most reliable, bust-friendly sports bras you can buy right now. Consider this your gateway to a future of bounce-free workouts.

Best For High Impact Workouts: Nala High Impact Underwire Sports Bra
Arguably one of my favourite launches from intimates brand Nala, the High Impact Underwire Sports Bra is designed for serious support during high-intensity workouts. With a non-padded silhouette, thick straps, moulded underwire and full-cup coverage, it delivers structure without sacrificing comfort—meaning it’s wearable well beyond a quick gym session.
User Review: I play high impact sports so need a very high impact bra to hold everything in. This bra is by far the best I’ve bought ever. Super supportive and comfortable which was a shock. Usually good high impact bras can feel restrictive, this one provided same level of support but feels super comfortable to wear.
Sizes: 8-22, B-H cup. | Colours: Seven colourways to choose from. | Support: Extreme.

Best For Strategic Support: Under Armour UA Infinity 2.0 High
If high-impact is your non-negotiable, the UA Infinity 2.0 High Sports Bra from Under Armour is designed to keep up. Engineered for serious sessions, it delivers strategic support through moulded cups, a breathable mesh panel and sweat-wicking fabric that works overtime to keep you cool and dry. Adjustable straps and a secure hook-and-eye closure ensure a personalised fit, while the streamlined silhouette sits smoothly under tanks and tees.
User Review: I wear a DD and always struggle to find sports bras that work for running/jumping AND that I’m not waiting to rip off the minute I get home from the gym. When I tell you this bra is so comfortable, I can and do wear it all day long. It holds everything in place for high impact workouts and doesn’t feel like a straight jacket. I literally recommend this bra to everyone, bra size regardless!
Sizes: XS-XL, A-DD cup. | Colours: Six colourways to choose from. | Support: High.

Best For Bounce Control: Triumph Triaction Performance Wired Sports Bra
It’s hard to go past a cult brand like Triumph when it comes to sports bras. This Triaction Performance Bra offers extreme support while being effortlessly light on the body. It’s non-padded and is made from innovative eco fabric which means maximum breathability and sweat reduction. However the standout from this bra is the extreme bounce control which has been tested and accredited by an independent research group from the University of Portsmouth.
User Review: I’ve been wearing the Triaction sports bra for everyday use, and it’s incredibly comfortable and supportive. It provides great all-day support without feeling restrictive, the straps stay in place, and the breathable fabric keeps me comfortable throughout the day.

Best For Size Variety: Nala High Impact Wirefree Sports Bra
Nala is also making a strong case for wire-free support with its High Impact Wirefree Sports Bra. Designed for medium to high-intensity workouts, it features a supportive wire-free construction, wide straps and full-cup coverage to keep everything comfortably in place without feeling restrictive. I also love the broad size range, which makes it a particularly inclusive option for those who can find traditional sports bras tricky to fit.
User Review: The relief when I put this on is out of this world. The closest I have come is when I had a breast reduction some 10 years ago now. My back and neck feel so much better. Haven’t used it for sport yet, just the most comfortable ergonomic bra I’ve ever worn.
Sizes: 8-22, B-H cup. | Colours: Six colourways to choose from. | Support: Medium to high.

Best For Running: lululemon Energy Bra High Support, B–G Cups
A high-support staple from cult activewear brand lululemon, the Energy Bra High Support is built for serious movement without the dreaded bounce. Designed specifically for B–G cups, it features a non-padded construction, wide straps and adjustable double-crossback straps that offer comfort and support. Quick-drying and sweat-wicking, it’s the kind of sports bra you can trust for runs, HIIT and anything that involves jumping.
User Review: This bra is perfect for larger busts! I’m petite and purchased a 12DD, which is true to size. It keeps everything secure during HIIT workouts without any pinching or discomfort. The cross-back design can be a little tricky to get on at first, but you get used to it. It fits my short torso perfectly and gives great support.
Sizes: 10-18, B-G cup. | Colours: Five colourways to choose from. | Support: High.

Best For High Compression: Alo Airlift Endurance High-Impact Bra
The Airlift Endurance High Impact Bra from Alo is proof that you don’t have to sacrifice style for support. Crafted from the brand’s signature sculpting Airlift fabric, this non-padded design features thick straps and full coverage to keep everything firmly in place during high-impact workouts. It delivers compression without discomfort, making it a go-to for cardio days when bounce control is non-negotiable — and yes, it’s cute enough to wear on its own.
User Review his sports bra is the best I’ve had to date! The fit is immaculate, light weight, durable, stylish. I was hesitant due to price, took a chance and glad I did. I will be purchasing another one soon.

Best For High Coverage: Nimble In Tempo No Bounce C-D Bra
If the name didn’t already give it away, the In Tempo No Bounce Bra from Nimble is all about stability. Designed for C–D cups (but also offering designs for smaller and larger cups), this non-padded sports bra offers firm support with wide straps, a secure underband and a smooth, breathable fabric that keeps sweat at bay. It’s structured enough for running and court sports, but comfortable enough to wear long after your workout ends. Consider it your insurance policy against mid-run regret.
User Review: This is the unicorn of sports bras. It’s been a nightmare for me to find one at my size, and I’ve had many terrible ones over the years. But now I’ve found Nimble, I’ll never have to worry again. I’m so excited I can take running to a new level!
Sizes: XS-XL. | Colours: Black, Espresso, Midnight Teal. | Support: High.

Best For Easy Wear: Lorna Jane Easy Zip On Max Support Sports Bra
For anyone who has ever wrestled a sweaty sports bra over their head, Lorna Jane’s Easy Zip-On Max Support Bra is a small miracle. Designed for high-impact workouts, it features a supportive, non-padded construction with thick straps, full coverage and a front zip for easy on-and-off. It’s secure, breathable and built to keep bounce to a minimum—making it ideal for running, HIIT and any workout where you want zero distractions and maximum hold.
User Review: Supportive and hold the girls in place without any bounce. The zip is a great idea to let some steam out when you’re finished. The clasp on the back is a bonus to loosen up the support until you get into the shower. I have three colours and is my go to bra for cardio.
Sizes: XXS-XXL. | Colours: Nine colourways to choose from. | Support: Extreme.

Best Underwire-Free: Berlei Smooth Power Wirefree Bra
A trusted name in intimates, Berlei brings its expertise to this wirefree high-support sports bra designed for powerful performance. With moulded cups, wide straps and smooth, breathable fabric, it offers structure without relying on padding or underwire. The Smooth Power Bra has also been tested by breast health experts at the University of Portsmouth and is officially validated for high-impact activity — meaning it’s proven to reduce movement where it matters most.
User Review: I have been looking for a comfortable sports bra for high impact training and finally found this yesterday. Tried it out today and absolutely love it! So comfortable. Will definitely be buying a few more.
Sizes: S-XXXL, B-F cup. | Colours: Seven colourways to choose from. | Support: Extreme.

Best For In-Built Additional Support: Nimble In Pace Racer C-E Bra
Designed for movement-heavy workouts, the In Pace Racer Bra delivers high support for C–E cups without feeling bulky or restrictive. With its non-padded silhouette, racerback design and compressive fabric, it’s made to minimise bounce while still allowing full freedom of movement. In-built stabilisers add extra support during movement, while still being breathable and sweat-wicking. It’s the kind of sports bra that makes high-impact training feel noticeably more manageable.
User Review: I am so happy I’ve found a sports bra that supports me on my runs, and isn’t padded! I personally really don’t like padded or molded cup sports bras, and Nimble has hit the nail on the head with creating this particular design.
Sizes: XXS-XL. | Colours: Black, Shadow Olive. | Support: Extreme.
The sports bra you choose should ultimately come down to what activity you’re planning on doing.
“Underwire can provide that extra level of support and separation for very high-impact activities, so for HIIT, sprinting or anything involving a lot of jumping, it can be a great option,” de Winter explains. “But wirefree absolutely doesn’t mean low support. A well-engineered wirefree bra can provide fabulous support through its fabric, construction, cup shape and band.”
Often a breathable, sweat-wicking fabric is best for your sports bra, so that you can comfortable sweat in it without any irritation.
“You want a fabric with enough structure to control movement, while still being breathable, sweat-wicking and comfortable against the skin,” de Winter adds.
A sports bra should feel comfortable and supportive without requiring constant adjusting throughout your workout. According to de Winter, there are some clear signs that your sports bra is ill-fitting.
“The obvious signs are breast spillage through the centre or sides, gaping cups, straps digging into your shoulders, or a band that rides up when you move,” she explains. “You also shouldn’t feel like you’re being squeezed, flattened or constantly adjusting yourself throughout your workout.”
