But what we don’t see is the spare change of clothes each member of the royal family is required to pack when travelling.

It may be a bit morbid, but British royalty must always pack a black mourning outfit in case a member of the royal family dies while they’re away, The Independent reports. That way, they can ensure that when they touch down on British soil, they’re appropriately dressed.

As The Independent points out, the rule has been in place since Queen Elizabeth was caught in Kenya when her father, King George VI, passed away in 1952. As fans of The Crown will know, the Queen was forced to wait in her plane until suitable black attire was procured.
