Prepare to be tansported

Nicholas Ghesquière transported guests straight to a 19th century train station platform for Louis Vuitton’s autumn/winter ’25/’26 show at Paris Fashion Week. As models rushed in all directions, as though racing to make their connections, an appreciation for the majestic and vintage mode of travel is evoked; memories of love reunited, melancholy goodbyes, the promise of adventure ahead.

A star-laden front row watched on, including Emma Stone, Lisa, Alicia Vikander, Saoirse Ronan, Sophie Turner and Phoebe Dynevor, as Kraftwerk’s “Trans Europe Express” played overhead.

An eclectic collection, the runway showcased a myriad of characters all of whom could be taking a trip on the LV Express. Looks are said to be inspired by but not directly lifted from Ghesquière and his team’s favourite films from The Brief Encounter, Casablanca, and Ceux Qui M’aiment Prendront Le Train to contemporaries such as The Hunger Games and Harry Potter – all featuring the prominent transport in one way or another.

Whimsy and volume were found in tiered dresses adorned with lace hems and shimmering evening skirts while a cosy practically could be found in contrasting forms like parkers, track pants and slouchy boots with woolen socks peeking out.

Among the accessories, a family of soft-sided bags–most notably the enduring Keepall–accompanied the evolution of travel, threading together collection looks while nodding to the brand’s core DNA.  See our highlights from the runway below.
