Kim Cattrall Just Liked The Most Scathing Tweet About ‘And Just Like That’

There's still some Samantha in her.

The Sex And The City reboot has been shrouded in drama and controversy since it was first announced, with one of the major issues being Kim Cattrall’s refusal to rejoin the cast. Without the actress reprising her role as Samantha Jones, fans were unsure of the direction the new series would take, and given the mixed reviews, it’s unclear whether And Just Like That has delivered or not.

One of the biggest rumours as to why Kim Cattrall would not be returning, was her ongoing feud with Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays the show’s lead, Carrie Bradshaw. While the pair have admitted to having their creative and personal differences, they soldiered on for the creation of six seasons and two films before eventually deciding to call it quits.

While she may not be involved and has rarely spoken about the reboot publicly, Cattrall has still put her two cents in, with eagle-eyed fans monitoring her liked posts to see if they can decipher any clues around her feelings towards the show. The latest might just be her most obvious one yet, with the actress liking a particularly scathing tweet which called the series “trashy.”

“So proud of @KimCattrall for skipping the trashy S&TC reboot and doing @HIMYFonHulu,” the tweet read. “She’s wonderful, and so is @HilaryDuff. If you have 48 minutes to spare, go ahead and watch the first two episodes…I may even rewatch them before next week. Challenge accepted!”

As we know, Cattrall will be starring in the How I Met Your Mother spin-off titled, How I Met Your Father, alongside Hilary Duff. The show will be premiering on Australian screens when it lands on Disney+, at a date which is yet to be confirmed. While it’s unclear whether she’s liking the tweet for its shade toward the reboot or its praise toward her new project, it’s all wrapped up as a package deal and open to interpretation.

It isn’t the first time the actress has liked a tweet regarding the reboot either, with her previously liking one where a fan said they wouldn’t be watching the reboot without her in it. She also liked another tweet earlier this month which read:

“I absolutely love Sex and the City and whilst I am saddened that Samantha will not return, I applaud doing what is best for you and think this is great example of putting yourself first. Well done @KimCattrall.”

The show decided to write out Samantha by revealing that she had moved to London, after falling out with Carrie who had dropped her as a publicist. This decision wasn’t met with the greatest response, with many fans claiming that it was untrue to Samantha as a character. Our favourite response? A potential cross-over between Samantha and Lily Collins’ character Emily, from Emily In Paris.

“Pitch: Emily is over Paris and moves to London to work for Samantha Jones PR”, one clever Twitter user mused.
