Following a week of speculation, actress Amber Heard and her billionaire boyfriend Elon Musk have confirmed their break up.
The pair, who went Instagram official in April, cited work commitments and long distance for the split, with both saying they still care about each other.
First, Elon commented “Cute” one one of Amber’s recent posts, before writing a longer statement in the comments about their relationship status.
“Btw, just to clear up some of the press storm this weekend, although Amber and I did break up, we are still friends, remain close and love one another,” he wrote.
Amber then followed up with a statement of her own, writing: “Being in the public eye means having to explain yourself to so many people, so much of the time,” the actress started underneath a picture of the words ‘Give’, ‘Love’, and ‘Joy.’
“In this case, I’d like to remain more quiet. Although we have broken up, Elon and I care deeply for one another and remain close. Thank you for the continued support, respect, and privacy during these difficult, very human times.”
