Ariana Grande Addresses Pete Davidson’s Manchester Bombing Joke

After a victim's mum spoke out

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson have been making headlines lately for a plethora of different reasons – from their whirlwind romance (which includes an engagement, an apartment and numerous tattoos) to the size of Davidson’s downstairs department. But the latest is perhaps the first bump we’ve seen on the road.

Last week, a woman whose 15-year-old daughter died in the Manchester Arena terror attack, spoke out saying that Davidson had made a joke about the bombings during a comedy skit last year.

“For anyone to joke about this situation is disgusting and I think he should publicly apologise for it,” she told The Mirror. “The families will find it equally as disgusting.”

“We don’t need jokes about it, there have been plenty around, and it’s heartbreaking to hear every day. But for someone so famous to be doing it and now to be with Ariana, it’s outrageous. I think she would be horrified too.”

According to The Sun, the incident occurred at LA’s Laugh Factory just five months after the horrific attack, which claimed the lives of 22 – most of whom were children.

Davidson reportedly said Grande must know how famous she is because “Britney Spears didn’t have a terrorist attack at her concert.”

Now Grande has responded to the reports, saying the situation has been very tough and “conflicting on my heart.”

She wrote on Twitter that she “of course” didn’t find the joke funny and that Davidson’s “intention wasn’t/is never malicious,” but it was “unfortunate.”

Given that Grande still suffers from PTSD following the attack, we’re sure Davidson wishes he could take back what was said.

“I don’t think I’ll ever know how to talk about it and not cry,” she recently told British Vogue

Davidson and Grande reportedly met early this year and publically started dating in May. They announced their engagement a month later.
