Despite having a serious Princess moment on the red carpet at Cannes last week, Blake Lively has actually revealed a rather surprising source of sartorial inspiration.
The former Gossip Girl star posted a cheeky snap to Instagram of herself watching the Disney classic, The LIttle Mermaid, with the caption, “Everyone thinks I was inspired by the princesses. If they only knew…”
The 28-year-old drew direct comparisons to the Disney princess Cinderella when she stepped on to the Cannes red carpet on May 13 in a voluminous gown by Vivienne Westwood.
From the icy-blue hue to ruffled skirt and her diamond encrusted headband – a.k.a the closest thing you can get to actually wearing a tiara – this was a princess moment if ever we saw one.
Although from what we hear she did go home with both dazzling Louboutins securely on her feet…

Lively, who is currently pregnant with her second child with husband Ryan Reynolds (ahem Prince Charming anyone?), even made a Disney reference on route to the red carpet, when she posted a snap of her dress on Instagram.
“Bibbidi bobbidi bling,” she wrote.
