This Is Meghan Markle’s Last Interview Before She Started Publicly Dating Prince Harry

She appears in a new book called 'The Game Changers'.

Though the public’s interest in Meghan Markle has exploded recently after the announcement that she’s dating Prince Harry, she has been famous in her own right for quite some time. In fact, she was recently interviewed for a new book called The Game Changers by Samantha Brett and Steph Adams, and it is her last known interview before the announcement.

The book explores success secrets from 40 women at the top of their fields, including Arianna Huffington, Rachel Zoe and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Meghan Markle opened up about how being cast on Suits as Rachel Zane changed her life.

“When Suits came about, I was really drawn to the character, and I loved how intelligent and driven she was – but I also thought I gave a terrible audition,” she said. “The phone call from my agent saying it was being greenlit still remains one of the best days of my life.”

In terms of the similarities between Markle and her character Rachel, she said “We are both strong willed and driven, as well as being layered and sensitive.”

She said that the decision to start The Tig was fuelled by the need to get her own words out there after saying other people’s words for a living. She added that she’s ecstatic that the website has become a community of support for the internal aspect of women’s lives.

“In my industry, it’s such a game of smoke and mirrors, of retouching and distortion, that I feel it gives a false message of what young women feel they need to live up to.

“I just find it’s very important to counteract how much snakiness we find in media and create a space where women support and encourage each other.”

She is also a passionate philanthropist, working with United Nations Women and World Vision.

“UN Women reached out to me through ‘The Tig’ after I wrote a piece on women’s empowerment. It was a pleasure to begin working closely with them to advocate for women and girls, and I continue to do that now as Global Ambassador for World Vision, where I recently travelled to Rwanda.”

The Game Changers is available now in ebook form ($15.95) and hardcover form ($29.95)
