Who Is Season 4 Of Bridgerton About?

Netflix’s Bridgerton is based on a series of novels by Julia Quinn, with each book centred around one of the eight Bridgerton children.

Seasons one and two kept to the anthology of the texts, telling the tales of Daphne and Anthony. However, the streamer deviated from this for season three, opting to focus on Colin and his romance with Penelope Featherington, rather than his older brother Benedict.

However, Netflix has now confirmed that season four of the show will indeed skip back to focus on Benedict. The streaming giant broke the news via Instagram, which ended in a hint to the original novels, where Benedict falls in love with a mystery woman at a masquerade ball. Bridgerton Season 4 Cast

Despite not knowing who its star will be, we do know for sure that two cast members will be returning for Bridgerton’s fourth season.

Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington, told The Wrap that she and Luke Newton, aka Colin Bridgerton, will both reprise their roles in the next season.

It’s safe to assume that Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte) and Ruth Gemmell (Violet Bridgerton) will return. Those who play the younger Bridgerton children will likely also be back, as they are yet to have their dedicated season. This means we can expect more of the delightful Claudia Jessie (Eloise Bridgerton), Hannah Dodd (Francesca Bridgerton) and Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton).

But what about Julie Andrews, who has had the role of the narrator, aka Lady Whistledown, thus far?

In the season three finale, Penelope finally reveals to the ‘Ton that she has been leading a double life.

After her revelation we head Andrews’ voice sign off, saying, “And with the retirement of my literary persona, I would like to formally introduce myself: previous wallflower, current columnist, observer, wielder of quill, nobody unique, and yet I have my moments.”

The next sentence begins, “And hopefully dear reader…,” and Nicola Coughlan as Penelope takes over the narration. She concludes: “You will stay on to enjoy them with me as we begin this next part of our journey. Yours truly, Penelope Bridgerton.”

Thankfully, showrunner Jess Brownell told Glamour that they are hoping to keep Andrews involved and are simply “playing around” with how that will look.

Brownell also told the magazine that the door is open for Simone Ashley (Kate Sharma) and Jonathan Bailey (Anthony Bridgerton) to return as well.

Bridgerton Season 4 Release Date

A release date for Bridgerton season four is yet to be announced. Given scripts are currently being written, it likely won’t hit screens until late 2025, at the very earliest.

How Many Seasons Of Bridgerton Will There Be?

Netflix has renewed Bridgerton for at least four seasons. However, there are eight books in Quinn’s series, so Netflix has plenty to play with, if they so wish.

After season three, the remaining Bridgertons who stories are yet to be adapted are Benedict, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, and Hyacinth.
