It’s official: we will soon be saying bonjour to another season of Emily In Paris. The hit Netflix show, which follows bubbly American marketing execute Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) as she navigates life, love and work in the city of love, is returning for a fourth season.

Here, everything we know about the cast, plot and release date of Emily In Paris season four.

Is Emily In Paris season four coming?

Yes, Netflix confirmed the show would be getting a fourth season in January 2022 via an Instagram post that read, “Say ‘bonjour’ to 3 & 4!”

Collins also posted an Instagram at the time, writing “I can’t tell if Emily would love or hate this announcement outfit but she’d be screaming either way. Truly love you all, thanks so much for the incredible support. Seriously cannot wait for more. Merci Beaucoup!”

It’s been a long wait for fans of the series, with season three released in December 2022. The filming was delayed due to the Hollywood writers strike so there has been a lot of anticipation given that season three finale left fans on a major cliff-hanger.

The good news is that season four is finally in production, as of January 2024. Lily Collins took a photo of herself with a table read-through script dated January 17, and she even wore an Eiffel Tower set in honour of the series.

“Did someone say Saison Quatre?! Finally reunited with my @emilyinparis fam back in Paris and it feels so good. Although, I may need to brush up on my selfie skills for Emily’s sake…” she wrote.

Will Emily Actually Be ‘In Paris’ For Season 4?

Despite showrunners and Lily Collins herself talking a lot about filming season four in Paris, it seems that the whole season will not actually take place in the city of love.

In April filming was back underway, but reportedly much of the new Netflix series will be set in Italy, specifically in Rome.

Whether or not this has to do with Paris being soon to host the Olympics – and thus a much more difficult city to film in – remains to be seen. But it seems that Emily could be swapping her “Bonjour’s” for “Buongiorno’s”.

“While Emily’s heart will always remain true to Paris, her life takes some unexpected twists this season,” Lily Collins, who plays Emily said at a 2023 Netflix event. “Don’t be surprised to find her on a Roman holiday.”

What Is The Plot Of Emily In Paris Season Four ?

Considering that the end of season three left us with a few unanswered questions, we have a few clues about what we might be seeing happen in the fourth season.

The first plot point we’re hoping to see is of course, Emily’s love life. At the end of season three, Emily was still entangled in a love triangle with Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount). In the same final episode, we also learned that Camille (Camille Razat) was pregnant with Gabriel’s baby.

In an interview with Deadline, Show creator Darren Starr also gave us a few hints about the upcoming plot points.

“[Emily and Gabriel] are star-crossed lovers. I think that a big question to think about the next season is [remembering that] Emily didn’t come to Paris for romance—she came for a job. I think they’re both in a different, more mature place in their lives, definitely a more complicated place,” he said.

Who Is Cast In Season Four Of Emily In Paris

Luckily for us, Lily Collins will return as Emily and Lucas Bravo will also return as Gabriel. As far as we know, Lucien Laviscount will return as Alfie, Camille Razat as Camille, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie, Ashley Park as Mindy, Samuel Arnold as Julian and Bruno Gouery as Luc.

When Will Season Four Of Emily In Paris Be Released?

While we don’t know the exact release date yet, the series has officially begun production. This means we’re expecting a release date in late 2024 or early 2025.

There’s a caveat though. While previous seasons have filmed in the French capital during the summer months, this season will be filmed during winter and spring. That’s because Paris is hosting the Summer Olympics, which puts restrictions on filming locations.

If the production sticks to tradition, we could see new Emily in Paris episodes by December 2024. But considering filming may wrap early due to the Olympics, there’s still a possibility it could land on Netflix even sooner.
